Job Description

Position Summary: Prepares cash disbursements to vendors for goods and services rendered upon receipt of properly authorized documentation. Maintains unprocessed unpaid files; processes unpaid files and paid files for vendors. Responsible for data entry and compliance of standards of balancing and controlling the accounts payable system. Processes Physician payments and Income Guarantee Payments.

1. Ability to meet minimum hospital hiring standards.
2. High school or GED

Essential Job Functions:*
Accounting Assistant II:
1. Performs accounts payable related functions in compliance with corporate guidelines including paying only invoices that have appropriate signature approvals and distributing month-end reports in a timely manner and timely and accurate 1099 production at year-end
2. Possesses knowledge of the accounts payable system and adheres to the corporate chart of accounts by selecting the proper accounts for distribution.
3. Files invoices timely and ensures they are perforated before filing to prevent reuse
4. Verifies vendors are charging the appropriate sales tax and that the AP system is set up accordingly.
5. Preparation of manual accounts payable checks when needed and timely input of the manual check into the system.
6. Maintains OPAY report and suspended vouchers report to ensure proper controls.
7. Receives favorable internal and external audits.
8. Performs other projects and assignments as required and promptly reports results.
